Cass Lyons is an immersive artist whose passion lies in interactive environments and exploration of the bizarre. Stemmed from a life-long disdain for always being told: “don’t touch the art” she grew through an array of mediums which continuously left a deep desire for more intimate experience. Cass stumbled head-first into interactive theatre with the botched thesis film turned immersive show, Wonder in the Wandering (2015). She continued this exploration building escape rooms as the Scene & Experience Designer with Breakout KC. Within this time, she danced between building narratives through the design of interactive spaces and broadening the scope of audience with city-wide scavenger hunts gathering up to four hundred participants. Since leaving escape rooms, Cass has spent the past few years writing, exploring, and building a studio practice on which new immersive work will soon be brought to life.
